Dr. Frank Liu is the program manager and serves as the Chair of the organizing committee of Leman China Swine Conference. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1994, MS from China Agricultural University in 1990, MBA from University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in 2004, and BS from Jilin Agriculture University in 1986.He had about 10 year’s doctoral and postdoctoral research experience in biochemistry and molecular biology. From 2022-2024, he worked as the manager for the project “Improving food safety of pork supply chain in China” sponsored by the Walmart Foundation. During his over 10 years career in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the UMN, Dr. Liu has worked as the lab manager for the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and project coordinator for the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety.  As a co-founder of the Leman China Swine Conference, he brought the event into China in 2012 and served as the director of the program. He has led and developed the leman China into the largest swine conference in the world. He initiated the Next Generation Swine Veterinarian program for training young veterinarians.  Dr. Liu has developed and co-developed and implemented high impact educational and training programs like, the International Swine Reproduction Symposium (SRS), Annual Veterinary Diagnostic Conference (AVDC), and the International Pig Digestive Disease Symposium (IPDDS).  From 2004-2006, he co-foundered a biotech company specializing in using RNAi technology in target validation and pharmaceutical research. He has extensive international experience through serving as the Head of Agriculture Division and Regional Project Coordinator in an UNCTD-affiliated international organization in Southeast Asia from 1998-2001.  Dr. Liu has more than 60 publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, book chapters, edited books, and proceedings.
